Compass Cambodia report - Cambodia has announced that the travel ban on travelers arriving from or passing through ten African countries, which was enforced late last month in the aftermath of the Omicron COVID-19 variant epidemic, will be lifted.
According to a news release published by the Ministry of Health this evening, the travel ban will be replaced by additional procedures to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the management of incoming passengers at international airports in Cambodia in accordance with the New Normal.
Those who have traveled to any of the ten African countries (Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, and Zambia) or other countries "of concern" in the two weeks leading up to their arrival in Cambodia must present a medical certificate certifying a negative PCR COVID-19 test and take a rapid test.
If their test results are negative, fully vaccinated travelers must be quarantined for seven days, but those who have not been fully vaccinated against the pandemic must be quarantined for 14 days.
Foreign passengers can have their quarantine conducted at a hotel or a center designated by the Ministry of Health or local authorities, but they must deposit US$1,000 for COVID-19 service charges.
