Construction of 38 roads in Siem Reap almost reach to the final stage

Compass Cambodia report - Sun Chanthol, the Minister of Public Works and Transport, led a technical delegation to inspect the status of 38 roads and other infrastructure projects in Siem Reap on December 7.

According to competent employees, 92.72 percent of the 38 road building projects in Siem Reap City have so far been finished, and they are anticipated to be completed on time as scheduled.

Minister Sun Chanthol and his entourage evaluated the job of placing AC asphalt on the road during the inspection to ensure that the project was completed in compliance with technical standards. In addition, the Minister looked at the progress of sidewalks, road traffic markings, road lights, and greening.

To beautify the city and attract more local and foreign tourists, the Minister asked the employees to plant green plants and flowers on both sides of the road leading to Angkor Wat.

The 38 road construction project in Siem Reap, with a total length of 106.424 kilometers and an estimated cost of 149.21 million US dollars, began on November 30, 2020, according to reports. The project will take 13 months to complete and is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
